Privacy Policy

No account or sign-in. Your journal is stored on your iPad unless you enable backup or export it. The app does not send usage analytics.

What stays on this iPad

Your writing, stickers, text, habits and settings are stored locally on your iPad. Content leaves only when you enable encrypted iCloud backup or choose to export or share it. Neither sends your journal to us. There is no account or sign-in.

iCloud backup (optional)

Backup is off until you turn it on. When you do, Interleaf writes an encrypted snapshot into your own iCloud container (iCloud.com.topxup.interleaf) — storage that belongs to your Apple Account, not to us. It is encrypted on this iPad before it is written, and the key is kept in your iCloud Keychain, where only your own devices can reach it. No server of ours is involved. Nothing is sent to us and nothing passes through us; we cannot open that file and could not read it if we tried. Turning the switch back off stops any further backup and asks whether to keep that snapshot in your iCloud Drive or delete it right away — the choice is yours. Restoring merges the backup into what is already on this iPad; nothing already here is deleted.

Sharing and exporting

Anything you share or export is made on this iPad and handed to the ordinary iPadOS share sheet at the moment you ask for it. Interleaf never sends it anywhere by itself; where it goes after that is between you and the app you picked.

Usage data

The app does not collect or send usage events, performance events or session identifiers to the developer. Download, sales and subscription reports are obtained from App Store Connect. There is no in-app analytics switch.

What this app never does

  • No account, advertising or third-party SDKs.
  • No journal content is sent to our servers.
  • No tracking across apps or websites.
  • No in-app usage analytics.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes its local data, but does not delete an existing iCloud backup or files you exported. When disabling backup, choose whether to keep or delete the snapshot. You can also remove it from your iCloud storage. We do not hold a copy of your journal.

Backup and calendar access

Backup is an optional Pro feature: AES-GCM encryption on your iPad, with its key in your iCloud Keychain. The app does not send usage events or session identifiers. Download and sales reports come from App Store Connect. Optional EventKit calendar access only overlays events locally, without changing or uploading them. You can refuse access and still use the app and purchases.
